Wire Railing System

A modern wire railing is a railing system in which the infill is a series of horizontal or vertical steel wires tensioned between posts, giving a clean, open barrier that suits contemporary architecture. The frame and posts are made from zinc-coated steel for corrosion resistance, and the wire infill can be stainless steel or galvanized steel depending on the location. Because the wires are thin, the railing preserves views, light and airflow while still providing fall protection. The standard height is 1100 mm, and the height, post spacing, wire pitch and tension are set to the project requirements. The frame is fabricated from zinc-coated steel tubes with posts set to the drawing, and the wires are tensioned in the frame so the infill holds its pitch under load. Corner and end sections are produced to the deck or stair layout.

A wire railing stands or falls on two things: the wire has to be evenly spaced and consistently tensioned, or the railing looks loose and unsafe. We fabricate the frame and tension the wires in our own production line, using the same jigs across the batch, so every bay has the same wire pitch and tension - which is difficult to achieve with field-assembled kits. Because the frame is made from the customer's drawing, post spacing and corner sections match the actual deck or stair layout, and the railing arrives as panels ready to install rather than as loose parts. Wire pitch and tension are set in our production line with consistent tooling across the batch, which gives each bay the same appearance and tension. The frame is checked against the drawing during production and before delivery.
